Licence, terms & privacy

These terms cover the Nexo Piano software (the standalone app and the AU, VST3 and CLAP plugins, together with their sound banks) and this website. By buying, installing or using Nexo Piano you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't install the software.

When you buy Nexo Piano you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it. You are buying a licence to use the software, not the software itself.

• One computer at a time. Your activation key may be active on one Mac or Windows PC at a time. To move it, release the key from your account or from inside Nexo Piano, then activate it on the new computer.
• Mac and Windows. One licence covers both platforms. On Mac you get the standalone app and the AU, VST3 and CLAP plugins. On Windows you get the VST3 and CLAP plugins only; there is no standalone app for Windows.
• The music you make is yours. You may use Nexo Piano to record, perform, stream and sell your own music, royalty-free, including commercially.

You may not:

• share, sell, rent or publish your activation key, or let it be used on more than one computer at a time;
• extract, copy or redistribute the samples or sound banks, alone or as part of another instrument, sample library or product;
• reverse engineer, decompile or modify the software, or work around its activation, except where the law expressly allows it.

If you break these terms we may deactivate your key. Everything not expressly licensed to you here remains ours.

Nexo Piano costs R 599,00 (ZAR), paid once. There is no subscription. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay.

Payments are processed by Paystack. Your card details go directly to Paystack and never reach our servers. Your activation key is issued the moment the payment clears and appears on the confirmation page and in your account, where you can also download the installers.

Before you buy, please check that your computer meets the requirements:

• Mac: macOS 11 Big Sur or later, Apple Silicon or Intel.
• Windows: 64-bit Windows with a VST3 or CLAP host (DAW).

Because Nexo Piano is delivered instantly as a digital download with an activation key, we do not offer refunds for a change of mind.

We will refund you in full if Nexo Piano does not work on a computer that meets the requirements above and we cannot fix the problem. Email appfy.dev@gmail.com with your order reference and a description of what happens. We'll work with you to solve it, and if we can't, we'll refund the purchase and deactivate the key.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under South African consumer law, including the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

Activating Nexo Piano needs an internet connection. The app sends your key and an anonymous machine identifier to our server, which records the activation. The identifier is a one-way SHA-256 hash of your computer's hardware ID; the raw ID never leaves your computer.

Nexo Piano may check our server for updates and tell you when a newer version is available. Installers for the latest version are always in your account.

We collect only what we need to sell you Nexo Piano, deliver it and keep your licence working. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

• Account: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
• Orders: the order reference, amount, date and payment status we receive from Paystack. We never see or store your full card number.
• Licences: your activation key, when it was activated, and the hashed machine identifier described above.
• Reviews: if you write one, your rating, title, text and the name you choose to show. We publish those; your email stays private.
• Messages: if you use the contact form, your name, email and message, which arrive in our support inbox so we can reply.
• Partner codes: if you used a partner or coupon code, which code was applied to your order.
• Your browser: this site keeps your basket and your last order reference in your browser's local storage. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Who processes it

Google Firebase (sign-in and our database), Paystack (payments) and our hosting provider, each only to provide their part of the service. We do not sell your information or share it for marketing.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account or a licence, and afterwards only as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it, by emailing appfy.dev@gmail.com. You may also complain to South Africa's Information Regulator.

We work hard to make Nexo Piano reliable, but it is provided as it is, and we can't promise it will be free of every bug or work with every host. Save your projects often.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Nexo Piano, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost data, profits or recording time.

Other product names belong to their owners and are mentioned only to describe compatibility or for comparison. Nexo Piano is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.

We may update this page as Nexo Piano changes. The date at the top shows the latest version; changes don't affect licences already bought in a way that reduces your rights. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
